Aug 1, 2016 | 6:40 PM

PARK LAKE – ***UP-DATE  An 18-year old man who was resusicated after a near drowing at Park Lake Monday afternoon has died in a Calgary hospital.

Just after 4:00, a swimmer was reported to be in distress at Park Lake. Conservation officer, Lance Tiedeman, and two off-duty EMTs performed CPR on scene. It was determined the teen had been about 30 yards from shore, and was submerged for about 10 minutes.

It was originally thought the incident was fatal, but once the teen was transported to the Regional Hospital, staff were able to find a pulse. The young man was flown to Calgary by STARS for further treatment.

However, RCMP confirmed Tuesday afternoon that the young man died in a Calgary hospital and that his death is not considered suspicious.
