Bulls Drop Game 2 Against Mavericks in 14 Innings

MEDICINE HAT – A walk-off single from Anthony Calton brought home the winning run for the Medicine Hat Mavericks (2-0) in a 5-4 victory over the Lethbridge Bulls in 14 innings at Athletic Park on Monday.

Calton was hot from the plate for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. Calton went 2-7 and drove in one. He singled in the second and fourteenth innings.

Greg Turner handled the Lethbridge Bulls (0-2)’s lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Turner allowed two earned runs on six hits and two walks over seven innings.

Talon Kunkel improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He allowed one run over three innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered two hits.

Mack Major ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

The Bulls have lost both games in the series so far. Game 3 goes on Tuesday back in Lethbridge at Spitz Stadium.
