Record amount raised through 24th annual Christmas Tree Festival
LETHBRIDGE – Despite economic concerns across Alberta, the 24th annual Christmas Tree Festival in Lethbridge raised just under $150,000, a record breaking number for the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation.
Over 4,000 people came out for the festival at the Enmax Centre, where they were able to get a look at 25 trees that were decorated and sponsored by local businesses, individuals and community groups. All of the trees were auctioned off Wednesday (Nov. 23) night, along with a number of other items, at the Gala and Auction.
“Once again we are overwhelmed by the success of the Christmas Tree Festival, but also the incredible support we continue to receive from members of our community,” said Jason VandenHoek, Executive Director of the CHR Foundation, in a media release.
All of the money raised through the event stay in Lethbridge to help the Chinook Regional Hospital. This year the proceeds will be put towards the renovation and redevelopment of the Mental Health area at the hospital.
