Fire damages Lethbridge Ironworks in Shackleford Industrial area

LETHBRIDGE – One person suffering from respiratory difficulty was treated and released on site, after a fire broke out at Lethbridge Ironworks in the Shackleford Industrial area around 9:15 Sunday evening (May 9).
 
Chief Fire Marshall Heath Wright says 18 firefighters responded to the blaze in the building, located in the 700 block of 32nd Street North. 
 
He says the blaze was contained to some pots used in smelting metal down to liquid.
 
Damage is estimated to be around $200,000.

No word on the cause of the fire.
