LETHBRIDGE – The National Hockey League released its mid-term rankings ahead of the 2018 Draft, and 43 WHL players made the list including Lethbridge Hurricanes defenceman Calen Addison.

Addison is currently ranked #34 among North American skaters, sandwiched between center Allan McShane of the OHL’s Oshawa Generals and left-winger Gabriel Fortier of the Baie Comeau Drakkar in the QMJHL.

NHL Central Scouting breaks the rankings into North American skaters and goaltenders, and European skaters and goaltenders.

Addison, the 17-year-old Brandon, Manitoba native is currently in his second season with the Hurricanes.

Through 46 games, he has seven goals, 40 assists and is a -15 on the season.

It’s just another good story in what has been a good year for Addison to this point.

Back in August, he was a key player for Team Canada at the 2017 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup Tournament where he and Hurricanes head coach Brent Kisio helped lead Canada to a Gold medal.

Then Addison earned WHL Player of the Week honours for the week ending Dec. 3, after recording one goal and seven assists over a four game span.

Addison, and the Hurricanes, wrap up their five-game BC road trip on Tuesday night (Jan. 23) against the Kootenay Ice in Cranbrook.
