LETHBRIDGE – UPDATE: 5:39 p.m. City of Lethbridge spokesperson Tara Grindle says two people were injured in a collision that occurred around 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon, Mar.15, on east-bound Whoop-Up Drive.

She noted that the driver was sent to Chinook Regional Hospital with minor injuries, and one passenger was also sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A relief bus was sent out to the scene to take the remaining passengers to their destination. The bus involved in the accident is out of commission.

While in the early stages of their investigation, the Lethbridge Police Service reports that several people had stopped and exited their vehicles to help another driver who had lost control on the roadway. They say the city bus then lost traction as it approached the scene and slid into several of the vehicles and one pedestrian, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries.
