Skinner, Bellerive move up in final pre-draft rankings

LETHBRIDGE – Two Hurricanes players have made some big moves in the final pre-draft rankings by NHL Central Scouting.

Goaltender Stuart Skinner moves from ninth to fifth for North American goalies. Skinner had a regular season goals against average of 3.26 and a save percentage of .905.

Forward Jordy Bellerive has moved up from 91st to 82nd among North American skaters.  In 70 regular season games, Bellerive had 27 goals and 29 assists, with a plus/minus ranking of -4.

One other Hurricanes player is listed. Ryan Bowen comes in at 204th. He had been 112th in the midterm rankings. During the regular season Bowen had 11 goals and 25 assists over 58 games, with a plus/minus ranking of +7.

Nolan Patrick of the Brandon Wheat Kings remains the top-ranked North American skater, despite being sidelined for part of the regular season, as well as the playoffs, by injuries.

The NHL entry draft is scheduled for June 23-24 in Chicago.
