Bulls, Mavericks combine for 29 hits in Medicine Hat win
MEDICINE HAT – The Lethbridge Bulls and Medicine Hat Mavericks combined for 29 hits, in a 15-5 victory by the Mavericks Sunday, June 24.
The Mavericks took the lead for good in the third inning, after the Bulls tied the game 2-2 in the first half of the inning. Brett Mercier and Damiano Palmegiani both doubled. Jesse Hilyard drove home a pair of runs, while Kaleb Warden and Grant Schmidt also registered RBIs.
Sal Rodriguez and Jordan Dray homered for Medicine Hat. The Mavericks outhit Lethbridge 16-13
The Bulls’ starting pitcher didn’t make it past the fourth inning. Chris Messer allowed seven runs, including five earned runs, on seven hits. Three other pitchers combined in relief.
