Bulls win on passed ball after 10-run rally by Brooks

LETHBRIDGE – The Bulls scored the winning run on a passed ball, to wrap up a 13-12 victory over the Brooks Bombers Tuesday, July 17.

With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, and the bases loaded, Bombers catcher Lino Figueroa mishandled the pitch to Jesse Hillyard, and Ashton Roy came home to score the run that ended the game. It was Roy’s third run of the night, and he had a pair of RBIs as well.

Despite the high score, there was just one home run, hit by Lethbridge’s Kaleb Warden.

The Bulls went through four pitchers, with reliever Chris Stodolka getting the win, pitching the final one-and-a-third innings. While Brooks scored ten runs in the final two innings to tie the game, only two of them were earned runs.
