UPDATE: Coalhurst fire contained to kitchen

COALHURST – A residential fire in Coalhurst Thursday, Dec. 27 was contained to the kitchen, the fire department said in an update on social media.

The fire, first reported on Spruce Drive, was actually on Sundance Drive. Crews who entered the home found a small fire in the kitchen and had it quickly knocked down.

The people in the home were able to get out. Firefighters rescued two cats from the home, as well as a dog that was in the yard.
