5th Avenue North Closed for LFS Fun City Sliders Fundraiser

LETHBRIDGE – Motorists take care… 5 Avenue North between Stafford Drive and the Scenic Drive North overpass will be closed Saturday, July 23.

Lethbridge Family Services will use this section of roadway for their Fun City Sliders fundraising event.

The closure will be in effect until approximately 11 p.m.

Motorists are asks to use 9 Avenue North or Hwy 3 as alternative routes.

Parking for event patrons will be made available at several City of Lethbridge parking lots located along 4 Avenue North, west of Stafford Drive, with the exception of the lot on the east side of Lethbridge Transit headquarters.

Fun City Sliders and First Choice Savings to setup a 1000 foot long slip and slide along 5 Avenue North.

The family fun event takes place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased for single, three or unlimited rides at: www.funcitysliders.com. Tubes are provided at the event.

The city is asking for residents to exercise caution if they are driving in this area, as a high volume of pedestrian traffic is anticipated.
