LETHBRIDGE – The Hurricanes have signed head coach Brent Kisio to a contract extension and will welcome back its full hockey staff from last season.

Kisio, 35, is about to begin his fourth season behind the Hurricanes bench. His 121 wins make him third all-time for Hurricanes coaches. This winter he will also serve as an assistant coach for Canada’s national junior team.

Also signing an extension is assistant coach Jeff Hansen, who is entering his second season after previously working as video coach for the Calgary Hitmen. Josh MacNevin will return for a fourth season as an assistant coach, and assistant/video coach Andrew Doty will be back for a fifth season.

Matt Anholt, son of general manager Peter Anholt, is joining the team as skills development coach. Anholt spent the last four years, the last two as captain, at University of Alaska-Anchorage. And a new scout, Garry Carson, previously with Medicine Hat, has been added.
